"Triangle: The Triangle, especially the equilateral triangle ( a regular, three-sided polygon) represents the Trinity, the Triple Goddess: Maiden/Virgin, Mother, and Crone; and with the three phases of the Moon: The Dark of the Moon, the Crescent Moon; and the Full Moon. Three symbolizes marriage and birth of a firstborn child. The triangle is the simplest polygon; it symbolizes a surface, and also the sacred number three, associated with the Goddess. The letter Y is formed when the three vertices are bisected by three lines that intersect at a central node. The triangle is the Greek letter delta. The triangle also symbolizes female genital region; the womb; the yoni; an entrance; a portal between worlds. Each of the four elements, Earth, Air, Fire, and Water are also symbolized by a triangle. Pythagorean triangles (3-4-5, 5-12-13, etc.) create right angles."
Somehow three is a very important number in mystic religions.
