Once again thank you

It depends on which school is the best fit for you. If you are a very academic student, then St. Johns might be the best fit. However, if you are not, you may not be happy there.

If you're in a private school now, ask your high school counselor which school is the best fit according to your resume and activities. If you're not, talk to kids who attend the local private schools and ask them. They should all know what each school is like, I know they did at my son's private K - 8 in L.A.

His K - 8 was extremely rigorous, toughest around, and many of the (very bright) kids decided that they didn't want 4 - 5 hours or more of homework a night in high school, like you will have at a high school with a very rigorous curriculum. So they choose to attend good private schools where they will get a solid education. (All at least 95% matriculation into good 4 yr colleges, most 100%.) But not schools where they will be overwhelmed. School is easy for my son so he choose a school similar to St. Johns, where 50% or more of the seniors are National Merit recognized (based on PSAT scores), you won't find too many schools that rigorous.

Academically, probably Kincaid would be next in line, but still quite a difference.

Go to all the open houses and see which school feels right. There were 4 schools that we felt might be appropriate for my son, 3 top academic, one a good nearby Catholic school with a great media program, their own TV studio, etc, where many of kids from his K - 8 go. He visited the schools and decided his #1 choice, and #2 was the Catholic school (even though we're not Catholic), he didn't like the other two schools very much, even though they were a good fit academically. (Thank goodness, they both are known for obnoxious parents and the kids aren't the nicest.) He was totally right, his 1st choice is perfect for him, he loves it there.

The size of your class might make a difference to you to. Does the school offer classes/clubs in the activities you're interested in? What about sports? Is the school in a good location for transportation? You will have lots of homework in any good private school, so you might not want a long commute.

Good luck!
