Jim is able to sell a hand-carved statue for $670 which was a 35% profit over his cost. How much did the statue originally cost him?
please show step by step.
thanks!
For this, we'll call the original cost of the statue "x".
Since the selling price of the statue is 35% more than the original cost, you'll have an equation that looks like this:
x * 1.35 = $670
Then divide each side by 1.35 to isolate the "x".
x = $670 / 1.35
x = $496.30

Statue Wood
Could you sue a store that sold you a wood statue that has termites living in it?
It was a $12 statue, bu we found a pile of sawdust underneath it and a small dead bug lying in the pile.
Caveat Emptor!
Please do not sue.
Did you attempt to return it? Did you inspect it before purchase? Can you prove the insects did not get in it after your purchase?
We live in such a litigious world. You made a mistake, move on.

Miniature Statue
How important was spirituality in Renaissance?
It doesn't take an idiot to see that people during that age, took great care in items made.
Day-to-day items, including Weapons were emotionally driven in a greater scenes in comparison to what "products" create today. Each inch of a great wooden ship was carved by hand using as artists' spirituality. Miniature statues were forged by in bronze or iron with each gun barrow.
Not to say that War has to do with anything peaceful. I'm only asking why todays' items are seem so fake? Including our Actions?
Sorry if the words above seem disorderly. I was writting them quickly.
What I feel about is important to what I do.
Don is very Brave.
Shadowwill equals to an Awesome Shame able of a lots of publicity!
DIA you just blew your cover. Only because men were more craftsman like in those days that doesn't mean that the labor of these craftsmen had anything to do with spirituality in their creations. The Renaisssance (French: rebirth) was a movement in European civilization that bought renewed interest in classical learning and values. Inspired by the ancient Greeks and Romans, Renaissance artist produced paintings and other art work based on the observation of the visible world and practiced according to mathematical principles of balance, harmony and perspective. Now if you want to suggest that mathematical principles are spiritual, go for it but remember that Di Vinci,Michaelanglo and Galleao were are odds over the evident scientific truths that were developing at this time with the "so-called" spirituality of the Papist Church.

Resin Statue
what glue can fix a resin statue?
I prefer using epoxy for stuff like this. It sets up quick and holds super strong. Different formulas are available that cure at different rates.
I don't care for superglue because it takes so long to dry. If you happen to have some use it. To make it dry instantly throw some baking soda on it. It acts as a catalyst.

Carving Statue
Why would hieroglyphs be carved backwards on a statue?
Does anyone know? Intelligent answers only...
Why would they be carved on a statue so that they are represented backwards...almost as if you would need a mirror to accurately read them.
What about upside down?
Circa 18th Dynasty.
Thanks!
There could be a number of reasons. Not all societies read from left to right. Some read from right to left, some read from bottom to top, so there are many different ways of aligning characters.
Or, it could be a hidden message - something that Sherlock Holmes would solve precisely as you suggested, by reading it with a mirror.
