Transcendental Mind
No items matching your keywords were found.
Which of the following is NOT recommended as a spiritual method for managing stress?
(a) interacting with the environment through physical activity
(b) using mind altering drugs to have a transcendental experience
(c) being mindful of the importance of relationships in our lives
(d) keeping a journal to learn about your emotional responses
D. is my answer.
B isn't really either, it's just that there have been many cultures who have done (and are doing) that to get closer to their god. Even though I don't believe in it, there are many that do.

Stick Wicca
How to tell my mom, who is religious, that im a Wicca.?
I am 12 years old and have been practicing wicca for 3 years. That's me, i always have. Me and my cousin, whom lives with me(we're the same age) practices it together. Her mom knows that we are both wicca but hasn't told anyone i am. I grew up believing in god but now i believe in more than one. Please don't judge me, because im pretty sure the bible says not to judge. and DONT tell me to quit doing what i believe in. Its my religion. But how do i tell me mom im a witch and i have been doing spells for a while. My mom isn't strict. She believes in god and not my beliefs. but in religion her and my step-dad are very strict. I would've told my dad but he died last year. So please help me. I'm stuck!
Ok, seriously, sorry to say this, but my advice is to just not tell her. Ever. Just keep it on the down-low. Your mom and step-dad aren't likely to take it well, and there's no need for them to know.

Buddha Eyes
What does the Talmud say about why God selected Abraham?
Why did God select Abraham? Why did he not reveal himself to say, Buddha or a Masai warrior? What was it about this obscure man from Ur that made him special in God's eyes? What does Judaism teach?
First off- discard the answers talking about the rebellion of Satan- there is no such belief in Judaism as angels have no free will and cannto rebel.
Now, as to why Abraham was chosen: Its because he went looking. In the Midrash it talks about how Abram (his name was not yet Abraham) searched for G-d. The story goes that first he looked to the sun, but it dissapeared at night- thus he looked to the moon. ut with the day that dissapeared to the power of the sun. He turned to other elements of nature- but mountains could not move and thus could not rule the world, rivers and seas were constrained to their banks and so on. the more he looked the more problems he found with the religions of his day. Thus he realised that above all elements of nature, the stars etc there had to be an overriding force, the supreme power which created everything and was beyond everything. In discvering G-d for himself, G-d chose him.

Buddha Prayer
Do you have the Smiling or Fat Buddha at home to bring happiness, prosperity, luck, wealth and contentment?
Over the years, the Smiling or Fat Buddha has come to represent several beneficial attributes such as happiness, prosperity and contentment. Consequently, people in East Asia such as China and Japan have placed the Fat Buddha statue in their homes and offices in order to attract these attributes into their lives.
However, the Fat Buddha statue does not only accommodate prayers for prosperity and happiness. Certain derivations of the Fat Buddha statue also represent other benefits. For example, the statue of the Fat Buddha with children also symbolizes his role as the guardian of children and brings good luck to families with young children or are expecting children. Similarly, the Fat Buddha sitting on a pile of gold coins symbolizes abundance and wealth.
Do you have more information on this Smiling Buddha?
And just how does an inanimate, non-living object help you?
Why a statue of fat buddha, why not a junked car in the backyard, has as much power as a statue.
If you want power in your life or someone who can provide real joy and happiness, choose the living God.

Prayer Buddha
Does Buddha answer prayers?
I've heard some conflicting information about this. Does Gautama Buddha, or any of the other buddhas and bodhisattvas for that matter, actually hear and answer the prayers of the people who are praying?
Gautama Buddha has been dead for nearly 2,500 years. A corpse cannot answer prayers.
Buddhas and bodhisattvas exist within each person. Can you answer your own prayers? Can I?
