I was just wondering if you have ever come across any allusions that Mary Shelley (Percy's wife) and Lord Byron had an affair during their time in Italy? I believe the question is whether or not she was the only one who didn't. Her husband was rumor to have had an affair with Lord Byron and was her sister, Mary SaintsSaturday, January 15th, 2011Mary Saints
![]() In the Catholic version of the New Testament, is it just about Mary, abortion, saints and the Pope? I've read the regular Christian version (as the Gideons gave me a copy years ago), and their New Testament is pretty interesting... it was inspiring to read about the life of Jesus and the ministry that followed him. So I can sorta understand why Bible-based Christians always talk about Jesus. But why are Catholics never talking about Jesus, but always so anal-retentive about abortion and "Our Mother" (FYI: That ain't my momma!)? The Roman Catholic New Testament is effectively the same as the Protestant New Testament BUT the important factor to consider is that the ordinary Catholic doesn't need (according to their religion) to pay any attention to it. Catholics believe in the Catholic priesthood which is superior to them, which they believe are closer to God than them, and have the power to interpret the Bible so they follow idolatrous, unbiblical practices such as Mary worship because that is what their ignorants priests tell them to do. Protestants, on the other hand, believe in the PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS which means that individual believers can find out the will of God DIRECTLY from God Himself. This is why Protestants tend to follow, more literally, this same New Testament. Mary GrottoMonday, December 27th, 2010Mary Grotto

![]() Why celebrate day of guadalupe? I'm sorry but I have to ask because I am so confused. Why celebrate day of guadalupe? My Husband is catholic but even he can't help me to understand. I grew up believing in celebrating on the birth of Jesus and that it was wrong to hold anyone or anything as high as Him. So, if someone could help me to understand this, I would appreciate it. Along with, why is the virgin mary so special. Yes, i understand that she was the chosen one to birth Jesus, but what if it would have been someone named JoAnn? Would catholics be celebrating the day of JoAnn? It just doesn't make any sense to me. We do not hold her as high as Jesus, and we are paying respect to her for giving birth to Jesus. Also Mexicans are paying homage to her because she was to have appeared in Guadalupe, and if her name had been Jo Ann, then yes we would pay homage to Jo Ann.But the day of homage is call "Our Lady of Guadalupe." |
