David Chai
Did you know Elvis wore a Chai Symbol around his Neck? Did Elvis Practice Judaism.with Rabbis?
)Elvis..' Chai

After Elvis' mother, Gladys, died, the King designed her tombstone with a Star of David on it to honor her Jewish ancestry, which was something Gladys was proud of.
After a breakin on August 29, 1977 to steal both Elvis' and Gladys' bodies, they were buried in Graceland where their security could be guaranteed.

Be very wary of anything you find on 'jew watch' - it's a notorious site run by neo Nazis.

Judaica Home
Does anyone know of a correlation between a dragon symbol and judaica?
Living in a home which is a Nationally Registered Landmark. It was built by a gentleman who was a merchant in the community and later became a Senator for the State of California. He was Jewish by faith. There is a huge symbol of a dragon carved onto the front of the home. The carving its self is apx 10'x10' so it's not small and it is the ONLY decorative carving which depicts any recognizable symbol, plant, animal or otherwise. I am researching the history of the home further and am curious if anyone has any input. The Bohemian Club used to meet here also around the turn of the century.
I am an Orthodox Jew and did a quick check on a few of my books. The one thing I cannot find is any link between that kind of symbol and Judaism. It was not used by any of the 12 tribes or any of the various Kings of Israel.
It doesn't meant here isn't any (I am no authority on this matter), but I cannot find one. Maybe something more local to you and the area though. Another option is that it is merely decorative- especially if it is an oriental dragon, orientalism has come and gone in fashion. (A sudden thought- he wasn't originally Welsh was he? It is a slim chance, I know)

Jewish Book
What book do Jewish people use to take oath of office?
There is a lot of furror over Keith Ellison's decision to use the Koran when he takes his oath of office. However, we have Jewish members of Congress... what do they use to swear their oath? When people testify in court do they always use a Bible? I'm sure Muslims have objected to that practice? Why is it more newsworthy that he's using it to take his oath in Congress? Wouldn't it be hypocritical of him to swear on a Bible? The book does not have the same meaning for him. Swearing on the Koran seems to imply that he takes the oath seriously, doesn't it?
The Quaran does not declare death to America and it does not give permission to lie to non-arab people. Those statements are either complete lies or just ignorance by the people giving them.
I don't actually have an answer to your question. I'm curious to know the answer as well. But at least I can keep those wrong statements from being said unchallenged.
