What is the Arabic word for "cold"?
okay, I am not muslim, but I think the way some of them wear hajib is really pretty and so nice for the cold weather. so, if someone asks me if I'm wearing hijab, I'd like to be able to cleverly (I hope) respond, 'no, not hijab. it's for the [arabic word for cold]." because the true quran is only the arabic version (which is a pretty smart thing to do) many muslims know arabic, plus most of the muslims on my campus are arabs. thanks for your help!
you could say - ana bardana - that means i am cold
and you can add - lastu muslima - i am not muslin
but not all muslims are arabs and not every arab speaks the language of the Qoran, they speak a dilect that they learned home and a variation of the language of the Qoran known as modern standard arabic which is not exactly the arabic spoken in the seventh century. it's a long story ..
