Wooden Cross
Why do Christians still crucify the Atta yeshua on a wooden cross?
idk but i always say 'i wish dey would take him off de cross now. he been hangin up there for 2000 years now!" lol! according to the bible he died on the cross but was risen again & went on 2 live forever & ever with God, but they idolize the figure as he's being crucified. idk if that was the happiest time in yeshua's life so why choose that particular moment in time as his legacy? as a reminder that 'he died for our sins'? that's like a rape victim getting her raper's name tattooed on her body as a reminder.

Religious Items
Religious items in the workplace?
My secretary placed a mezuzah (a case that holds Hebrew verses from the Torah) on her cork board by the front door to our lab. I am personally not offended by this, but wondered if it was appropriate to display a religious item in an area that has many different employees with a variety of beliefs. Is this legal?
We work for the government.
depends on the workplace in question-
if its a private workplace then the rules governing can prohibit display of such items since it is not attatched to the person but to the company property-
a private company can prevent ANY display of any religious items on its own property, but couldn't prevent her from wearing a cross or jewish star or whatever. (well- they COULD but would be open to a discrimination suit).
as far as a government office? not so sure about that because it is a private individual putting up a religious symbol not government funds bieng spent in furtherance of religion. also how private the lab is. the reality though is that government workplace would likely have a general prohibition against that kind of thing so as to prevent government entanglement with religion.

Cross Crosses
Did Jesus run around making the sign of the cross all the time and erecting crosses on buildings?
You know He didn't so what's the point of your question. Which by the way doesn't belong in this section unless you are attempting to get at the issue of the separation of Church and State.

Crucifix Crosses
What's the symbolism a cross/crucifix displayed above the head?
I took a picture recently and someone just pointed out how there is a cross above my head in the photo.
Is there normally any symbolism connected with this cross above the head?
Its a sign of protection. A cross is something that is very often mistaken as being something only religious people wear but the cross also represents the four elements, earth, wind, fire and air, the four directions of north, south, east and west and the four phases of the moon. Universal energy.
Can you email the picture i like to post strange pictures onto my website. Heres a link to it.

Crosses Crucifixes
Do Christians other than Catholics and Orthodox have crucifixes?
I heard that most don't believe in having the crucifix, they have a cross instead. Is that true and why?
A crucifix (from Latin "cruci fixus" meaning "(one) fixed to a cross") is a cross with a representation of Jesus' body, or corpus. It is a principal symbol of the Christian religion. It is primarily used in the Catholic Church, Lutheran churches, Anglican churches, and Eastern Orthodox churches, and it emphasizes Jesus' sacrifice — his death by crucifixion, which Christians believe brought about the redemption of humankind.
