Cleansing Smudge
Can purple sage be used for making smudge sticks?
Will it have the same cleansing affect as the regular white sage?
There are a lot of sage bushes in my backyard, but there seem to be more purple sage than common sage, and I don't want to break too much of the common sage if purple will have the same affect when smudging.
Why don't you just try it and find out? There is no reason why not, as far as I can see. Anything aromatic and non-toxic can be used for smudging. Use what's in the backyard, don't let it go to waste!

Sage Cleansing
What are some indigenous sacred sage plants in arizona?
I have been reading about using sage plants for healing and cleansing. I was wondering can you use any sage plant? Also what sage plants can I find in arizonas sonoran desert? If you could give me the name or a link to a picture I would appreciate it. When I take walks in the desert I want to keep my eye out for them. I know I can buy them, but I would rather just find one.
Go to the Internet with "sage as medicine." Good stuff there.

Smudge Sticks
how do you make simple ouija boards planchettes and smudge sticks.?
to make a seance as safe as possible how do you make ouija boards planchettes and smudge sticks.
Ouija boards are easy. You basically need anything at all on which you can put letters, and over which an object (such as a cup or upside-down ashtray) can slide. A nearly ideal board is a table top covered with letters (cut out or written, whatever suits your fancy) and covered with a pane of glass. Over that, an inverted teacup or ashtray works perfectly, though anything you might wish to use is fine so long as it does the job - it just needs to slide easily upon the glass surface with very little pressure needed to make it go.
As for the smudge sticks, you're probably best to get them from someplace that actually produces them. Though you can tie up bundles of dried sage and mint, even a little bit of tobacco (keeps bad spirits away, though too much can chase the good ones away, too ). Just roll them up and light them, though for homemade jobs you might be better off going the incense route. Get charcoal briquettes (grill briquettes work if you can't afford the real thing) and keep heaping the desired herbs upon the glowing embers as the event progresses.
Sage is of course perfect, and mint, as well as: tobacco, lavender, rose petals, anise, licorice and saffron. For the saffron, as it is quite expensive, you might actually prefer to just use it as a sort of chew - it can melt in your mouth and tastes quite divine.
Most importantly, pray to that in which you have faith for protection, think positive and don't try to summon anything dark or sinister - you will find what you honestly try to seek, so be sincere in stating your intentions.

Cedar Smudge
Game faces, end of May blues, or splinter removed....and your comments are?
Her Face Fell
Coming home to find an odd herd
or bright white dustbunnies roaming
the floral rug, the dog huddled under
the cedar end table, and the heart
of her pansy patterened sofa
exposed....to murderous thoughts.
Her face fell.
Sniffing, she held the wad of tissue to
her nose, listening to the whir of the
airconditioner in the office where
hell froze over, watching as the ink
dried on the next chapter of her life,
wondering if this is where
death parted.
Her face fell.
No longer connected, propped on a pillow,
she shudders, drawing her last three breaths,
finally releasing that mystic piece
of her truest self, leaving only a smudge
of soul dirt on that hospital room ceiling.
Her face fell.
Theirs crumbled.
Game face. never ever ever let then know you hurt. Go down with both middle fingers standing
