Flower Insights: A path of mindfulness in everyday life..whats the meaning?
Im doing a paper on the Flower Insights about Buddha holding up a flower to 1250 munks and nuns and only one person smiling, Mahakashyapa. Im just trying to answer a question "What can humanity learn from this?" can anybody help please?? thanx a bunch
Mindfulness = being fully present to the present.
Therefore, the one person who smiled was fully present to the flower, to the beauty of the flower. They weren't wondering/thinking or trying to figure out why Buddha held up the flower or what Buddha wanted in response to his holding up the flower.
That one person was so fully mindful & present that they simply smiled in the presence of the flower's beauty.
