what are sacramentals?
what are sacramentals? holy medals, scapulars, prayer cards, novena candles ect. how are they used? why are they used? can you reccomed any that I can use in a devotion?
They are mere object or expressions of apologies for sins; they are things made with men´s hands, or a ritual recital. None of which can take away sins; which is why tells us to repent, and then we may receive the remission of sins. This tradition of men with sacraments teaches in effect, that a person does not have to repent, but just follow instructions of their ritual, and there sins are past. Many prefer this because there is no sacrifice, no effort for them to make; it makes everything comfortable and convenient: however, it leaves their sin left untouched.
