What type of candles, incense, and oil do you use during ritual?
Do you use different ones for specific rituals, or are they all-purpose? Do they have symbolic significance for you? Do you choose them based on color, scent, or both?
For incense and oils, I'll usually make something that is seasonal or suits the occasion, though I do have my standard favorites that I use on a more regular basis. One common quick incense I use is equal parts copal and sandalwood. I also use sage often, and I love orange blossom oil and wisteria.
For candles, it depends on the ritual, and frankly what I have on hand. I keep a lot of red for the color of my patron Goddess, and a lot of white just because it's pretty much all purpose. We have a "Sun Candle" that is the center of the altar for sabbats; usually it's yellow or orange and decorated with glitter and paint and sun signs. We get a new one every Yule and light it on Sabbats until Samhain, then bury the remains of it.
