Silver Jewelry Natural Cleaning at home?
Anything I can use, like at home products instead of chemicals? also I have amethyst in the center of a ring and pendant to clean, is it safe if I used something and it got on them? Also, how can I prevent tarnishing in the first place? Thanks!!
Go to a jewelry store and buy a silver polishing cloth. I use one constantly on my silver pieces and it moves the tarnish safely without having to use chemicals or something where you use a liquid to clean the jewelry. This is especially safer when cleaning a piece that contains a jewel or a stone. If you are cleaning straight silver pieces, regular white toothpaste and a touch of water will also work.
As far as preventing tarnish goes, I'm not really sure about that, but I know just letting your jewelry sit out in the open air can cause it sometimes, so regular polishing with a cloth and proper storage of your jewelry should help.
