Finely Carved
What are we doing all of this for?

The greatest thing I might achieve before my time is done:
show myself in sculpted verse and finely chiseled poems.
Placed on a canvas of time and space, galaxies unfold;
shining with faceted diamond-stars, streaked with love like gold.

This message I wish to pass on to future believers:
we are the makers of the tapestry, the dream-weavers.

We held the entire universe in out little hands,
we took the mightiest of mountains down to grains of sand,
we paint the sky cerulean at dawn of day and dusk;
and we carved the Grail itself from the final mammoth’s tusk.

The greatest thing that I have learned here on the planet Earth:
a thing which bears the soul of art shall have the greatest worth.

I'm hopin' to earn enough money to buy me some new underwear. I stretched the bejezus outa these.
