Communion Bracelet
i did the communion thing, but i'm not really catholic.?

Ok I do sincerely believe in Jesus and Mary and I have the utmost respect for them (I'm even afraid to even throw or mistreat my religous bracelet with Holy Mary on it or look at a picture of Jesus the wrong way) I was born into Islam so I guess I'm Muslim but I'm not very religious (I dont go to the mosque or read the koran), but I am very spiritual.

So this last christmas that just passed, me and my younger sister (age 9, i'm 15) went to a catholic church to do the communion thing. We ate the bread and drank the cranberry juice, i knew that it represented Jesus' body and blood. I was told that those who are not worthy and that do eat the body and blood of jesus..well, thats just it i dont know. Are we going to hell because we ate Jesus? I am very concerned. Will at least my little sister be forgiven because she is only a child?
I'm only 15, and i dont go to church regularly,SO OF COURSE I'M A LITTLE MIXED UP

Please, please, please ignore that awful answer given by the person who insulted you and your sister.

You have not sinned because you did something in ignorance. While our system of law says ignorance is no excuse it's a little different in religion.

Now that you know, however, if you take the Euchrist and are not a Catholic that is a sin. If you become Catholic and take the Eucharist with mortal sin on your soul, that is also a grave sin.

Of course, Catholics break this rule all the time and it is their responsibility to go to Confession and ask for forgiveness.

You and your sister are not going to Hell because you took the Eucharist. Jesus is all that is loving and understanding. It sounds as if he is trying to draw you to Christianity by giving you the curiousity to explore religions other then Islam.

It is a little strange that it was cranberry juice. I have never been to a Mass where it wasn't wine so you may have not even been in a Catholic Church. There are several other Christian sects that take Communion and most of them don't use wine.

If you are very spiritual you should look into some form of religion be it Islam, Catholicism or Protestantism. Remember, also, that educating yourself is the best weapon against sin, which you are already doing by asking this question.

God Bless you, dearest, and your sister too.
