Will the Catholic Church change it's belief's/practices with the acceptance of Anglicans in the Catholic Churc?
So, with the Catholic Church now accepting the Anglican Church back into the church for those who oppose gay and female clergy as one of the reasons. Will the Catholic church change and now have an accept married priests? I don't know how I feel about that...leaning towards no. I am traditional. In one article on fox news it states that "The constitution, a canonical structure, will provide “personal ordinariates” that will allow Anglicans to “set up church” within the Catholic church while retaining elements of their former ecclesiastical identity, such as Anglican liturgies and vestments." What do they mean by "set up church"? And will this change the way that we Catholics have Mass and Communion if the Anglicans will be retaining many of their former Anglican identities? And if Anglican priest can be married can Catholic priest now be married? I just have many questions and issues and I don't quite understand what this means for the Catholic Church.
Thanks
From what I have read they are to be accepted under their own Rite and having their own administration while still in communion with the Vatican. They will join the 23 Rites already in communion with the Vatican. The Latin Rite Church was already accepting Anglican priests who desired to become Catholic priests even if they were married. The 22 other Rites already allowed married priests. God bless!
