If I buy a piccolo made of brass, will I regret it?
I have been looking to buy a piccolo, and I just found a piccolo priced at $155. The description says that it's made of brass though, and I was wondering what kind of color that would give the sound. I know some of you out there don't like the sound of metal piccolos to begin with, but with that aside, how do brass piccolos stand among them?

I'm not looking to play the piccolo in marching band, and I probably won't play it in concert band either. I want it for my own personal enjoyment and so that I can practice for when I DO need to play piccolo for marching band. (when I play picc for marching, I'll use the school's) I want for it to sound decent though, in case I end up having to use it, or making a recording... or something else of that nature.
You will not regret buying a brass piccolo, you will regret buying a $155 piccolo! The chances are that if it does play it will start falling apart in a week or two under use. Your best bet is find a good used one from a KNOWN maker. Remember, you can always sell it when your done so it won't kill you to get one that will play now and keep playing.
